tina FINALLY gets the axe!

Just now, when I got home from work, I found a delightful email from one of my best friends:
Hi Rob, just came across this in the Miami Herald. You probably saw it but just had to let you know in case!!!
Made my day!
Christina Crawford show about Joan Crawford canceled.
Surviving Mommie Dearest, Christina Crawford’s stage show about life with mother Joan Crawford, didn’t survive its premiere this week in Key West.
Slow ticket sales in Broward apparently forced the show to be canceled Saturday night at the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center at Nova Southeastern University in Davie.
From a reader who saw the show Wednesday night at the Tennessee Williams Theatre in Key West:
"The first half was bad enough but the second half was so bad someone screamed ENOUGH, got up and left. I think the whole audience felt the same way. I know I did.
Thwack!
The first comment on the article reads:
"HOORAY!!!! That 'wanna-be' has been living off of a woman who she claims was a 'Monster' for way too long. ENOUGH ALREADY! Go slither under the boards somewhere, and leave us alone!"
In other words, the s.p.o.s. (AKA christina) should just
and I don't know...maybe...GET A LIFE?
Then again, that might be difficult for s.p.o.s. As another commenter wrote on another site reporting the same incident:
Christina is now 72. Her mother died at 72. The clock, one presumes, is ticking.
Personal note and apologia: I've been working like a son of a gun lately (three triple shifts in a row the last few days,) but this news really makes me smile, smile,SMILE!
"Who wants to go swimming?!?!"
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Reposted because I was clearing out drafts and accidentally erased the actual post (damn it all!) and I'm especially aggrieved that I erased all the comments--further proof (not that any was needed) that I am, indeed, a natural blond.
And just for the heck of it, because I like this picture, here's Joanie at Town Hall:
This is how I think she'd react to know how much so many people love her!

Hell, repost it three more times because I'll never get tired of hearing that Tina has led a sad, pointless life!

I know, right?! I was grinning like a maniac when I got this in the mail!
I'm just SO PISSED that I accidentally deleted all the comments, along with the post, because they were all pretty funny!
The tide is indeed turning...

Happy, happy news!
Isn't Straight Jacket a William Castle film? John Waters writes lovingly about his work.

Toon, as always, I'm delighted to read your comments! I read 'Shock Value' by John Waters a LONG time ago-back when it first came out- and he definitely has an interesting way of interpreting the world (and I'll always be grateful to him for turning me on to 'Faster Pussycat, Kill Kill')!
Edith Massey in 'Pink Flamingos'...
Muligan, thank you so much for your thoughts! Yeah, I love Joan Crawford too...When I saw your comment I checked out your site and was concerned that it seemed to have gone inactive for awhile, so I'm happy to see that you've started posting again the last few days! If I ever (*fingers crossed*) get a real, honest-to-goodness day off, I'll try my darndest to catch up with your site! Thanks again, and take care yourself!
And of course Pax, thrilled BEYOND BELIEF to hear from you, too: that song by BOC (Joan Crawford Has Risen From The Grave)made a huge impression on me as a kid.
"...christiiina...come to motherrrr..."
Although I must admit my favorite BOC songs are "Don't Fear The Reaper" and "Burning For You" (the former because Annie Brackett was playing it on the radio in 'Halloween' and the latter because-er-it always makes me think of one of the hottest guys I've ever known. No really, he was kind of disgustingly perfect).
Once in awhile, I wonder what ever happened to him.
Sad now.

I was too busy to keep my eye on that thing, but this is GREAT NEWS! Baby Tina should finally open her eyes and see that everybody's tired of her trashing Joan. Get a life, woman, and get a job, because obviously, you won't be able to live off that damn show!

hugs, Rob!

Magda, it's so great to hear from you! And yes, this was such exciting news, really made my day, no-week...no, YEAR!
As always, thrilled to hear from you, and --not kidding--I check your site every day after work. One of my best friends and co workers is a wonderful young Polish woman (I'll probably mangle the spelling) named Bozhena, and I love when she gets mad at incompetent co workers because she lets loose a flood of swearing in her native language, and she can't get in trouble because nobody knows what she's saying!
Question for you: do I have to be a member of tumblr to comment on your site? I've tried quite a few times but I don't think it goes through, Anyway, just wanted to say that version of Ruby Tuesday by Katey Sagal was AMAZING!
(I love Leela and Peggy Bundy to the point of idiocy!)
Thanks again, fellow Joan-Warrior!

Rob, I think you need to have your own tumblr to comment on my posts :( It's quite complicated, posting comments there, but once you start tumbling, as we say it, you will know how it's done :) Anyway, good to know that your co-worker is Polish, that's absolutely fantastic! her name is Bożena, I guess, so the spelling is Boh-jena - with that 'j' spelt like 'j' in French, like in 'J'adore' for example. You can listen to it here: http://www.forvo.com/word/bo%C5%BCena/

have a good day, fellow Joanie fella :)

Well, it always warms my heart to read that my fellow gays won't sit through any pap that people pander to us. Your blog is hilarious, and you make some high-quality screen caps. What program do you use?

Rob said...

Hi Joseph, and thanks! As for what program I use, that's a tough one, because I'm a technological idiot; whenever I need help with anything I have to call a friends boyfriend --total computer genius--over to explain things to me (he uses the patient tones of an adult speaking to a rather slow child). I know it's on firefoxm if that helps-sorry so clueless!
